Junior Sous Pastry Chef

The Olive Tree Restaurant at The Queensberry Hotel is looking for a keen Junior Sous Pastry Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team.

The Olive Tree is one of Bath’s longest established independent restaurants and has held 3 AA Rosettes for 5 years as well as many other awards. We are very proud to have been recognized “Best Fine Dining Restaurant” at Crumbs Awards 2017.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Pastry Senior Chef de partie looking to step up a level, to join a highly experienced brigade with career progression opportunities in the future.

The ideal candidate will have previous 3 rosette kitchen experience and will be eager to learn lots of new cooking techniques working with Head Chef Chris Cleghorn, who is working to achieve some very high accolades at The Olive Tree.

This role will include working most weekends, public holidays and most evenings. The rota system will mean that you will work five days out of seven each week. Including 1 breakfast shift (6.45am – 3pm) and 4 x split shifts.(9-3/5-finish)

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £24,000.00 /year inclusive of gratuities.

Hotel Porter

The Queensberry Hotel, Bath’s renowned boutique hotel is looking for an enthusiastic individual.

This role includes:

  • Welcoming guests to the hotel
  • Valet parking cars
  • Carrying bags to rooms
  • Support reception team in checking guests in and out
  • Complete guests’ requests during their stay
  • Concierge – give information about sightseeing, restaurants, …
  • Maintaining public areas and gardens of the hotel
  • Assist restaurant team with bar service and room service
  • Occasional coverage of night shifts

A porter works on a flexible 8 hour shift basis including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Porters will also be asked to cover night shifts.

Your profile:

  • A passion for providing excellent levels of guest service and enjoy working in a busy environment
  • High level of spoken and written English
  • Immaculate personal presentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good local knowledge of Bath is desirable
  • Please note that a full valid driving licence is ESSENTIAL. Valet parking guest cars is a daily and frequent part of this role
  • Good physical condition, you will be standing for a large part of the day and some lifting is involved when moving guest’s luggage

Chef de Partie

The Olive Tree Restaurant at The Queensberry Hotel is looking for a talented Chef de Partie to join our dedicated kitchen team.

This role will include working most weekends, public holidays and most evenings. The rota system will mean that you will work five days out of seven each week including split shifts covering breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Restaurant Supervisor

All roles are mainly focused on working within The Olive Tree Restaurant during breakfast, lunch and dinner service 5 days per week. This is a physically demanding role working to a very high standard in a team of highly experienced individuals.

The main duties include:

  • Serving food and drink in the Olive Tree Restaurant
  • Supporting manager and assistant manager
  • Coach and train the team
  • Cleaning, re-stocking and preparing for service.

Kitchen Porter

The Olive Tree Restaurant is looking for a full or part time Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team.

The role is based upon 5 days per week on a rota basis with 5 straight shifts. On an average of 40 hours per week.(£8.17 an hour)

This is a physically demanding job working in a high pressure and very busy environment. Ideally we are looking for someone with some experience although training will be given.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Cleaning the kitchen
  • Operating the dishwasher
  • Basic food prep
  • Assisting the kitchen team in daily duties
